I work with both children & young people from the ages of 8-16. As with my adult clients, I work with my younger clients to help them understand why they are feeling or behaving the way they do, which supports their emotional development and attunement. I believe in empowering children & young people by teaching them child-friendly skills to manage their worries. This creates resilience from an early age and supports them to independently find healthy solutions to worries in the future.
Whether you want to explore options to personal challenges or simply need a space to be heard, I provide an approach tailored to your needs. My role is not to impose solutions but to guide you towards awareness and healing in a way that feels right for you.
As children learn to understand and manage their emotions, they become better equipped to overcome obstacles and handle difficult situations effectively. By fostering emotional resilience and problem-solving skills early on, we empower children to face life's ups and downs with confidence and resilience, laying the foundation for their future success.
Social skills & communication are essential for development. They facilitate collaboration, cooperation and empathy, which fosters positive relationships with peers and adults. Improving social abilities helps children to learn how to express themselves confidently, resolve conflicts peacefully and build strong interpersonal connections.
Empowering children increases independence, crucial for holistic development. It cultivates self-confidence which shapes children into capable individuals, who believe in themselves and their abilities. By encouraging autonomy from a young age, we support the groundwork for healthy adulthood and well-rounded personalities.
As children & young adults develop, there is so much new information and stimuli for them to constantly take in. Sometimes, this can be overwhelming and as a result, much like adults, they create coping mechanisms to deal with this in their own way. These can show up in a variety of ways, but are nearly always a call for help, which we as caregivers must be present to answer and support them through. I work alongside children & young people to overcome a number of concerns including emotional, mental and developmental worries.
I take a child-focused and friendly approach, allowing children to set the pace and communicate their needs so that we can work together to address their worries.
I work with children who struggle with the following issues, just to name a few:
Everyone’s story is unique, and I’m here to listen, understand and support without judgment.
I work with young people from 10-16 years old and as with all of my clients, I allow them to set the pace and use their own words to express how they are feeling. It is their time to express themselves, so that I can work with them to address the root of the issue of what they are facing.
In addition to traditional talking therapy, Parts Work and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I may include Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) hypnotherapy and somatic therapy. This multi-faceted approach ensures we address needs comprehensively. Learn more about the approaches I use here.
Parenting today comes with its own set of challenges, but you’re not alone. Whether it’s tackling digital dilemmas, managing behaviour, or building stronger parent-child connections, I’m here to provide the support and tools you need.
I am keen to have parents & carers take a hands-on approach so they can meet the needs of their child at home and we can work through any issues together.
I understand that a child needing therapeutic support can cause stress and concern for parents. Therefore, I encourage discussions about this, as well as creative ways of working; I truly believe this is a collaborative approach where creative methods are often the most effective.
Let’s navigate this journey together, making parenting in today’s world more manageable! If you have any questions, please get in touch.
